Dragonfly in Dew
At the moment I'm reorganizing my pictures so I see them all again.
This one is from last spring.
I made this very early in the morning just after sunrise. This dragonfly was completely covered with dew drips and was waiting for some sunlight. When I was at home processing this picture I made a crop of the head (this picture). You can even see the facets through the drops. That's why I do like macro work.

Hope you like it too.

Exposure time 1/80 s
F-number f/8
Exposure program Manual
ISO speed ratings ISO 100
Flash Flash fired
Focal length 180 mm

Big crop. (70% off)

C&C welcome

That's quite a lot of detail you captured there. Very very nice Tom.

yes, impressive detail Tom. Such a close crop makes it a little difficult to see exactly what we're looking at but it soon becomes clear. I think I'd prefer a fuller view of the dragonfly. Good technique though.

That's amazing !
Make a good puzzle !
Prefer the first by a long way.

yes, the first does work better. A full view of the dragonfly's body including abdomen would have been nice, although then you don't always have the same level of detail in a 720 pixel image as the crop of the head does.

A top flight macro shot, exceptional detail, the further you look into it, the more you come to appreciate the overall quality of the image. Exceptional shot.

Nice one...great amount of detail and well seen... I think perhaps the image needs just a slight lift as the shadows appear to be blocking up at web presentation size etc... (probably not doing so on your full rez copy)...

Ring Flash?

Very surreal - loads of detail and most unusual.

Wow! That's wicked. It makes me squirm when I think of all that water on an eye.

Nice work
