Common Wasp
needless to say, this is one from the summer. A Common Wasp taken in my garden.

Canon 30D with MP-E 65 macro lens. f14, 1/160, ISO 100, diffused Speedlight on side bracket, handheld. Taken at around 1.5x life size, with a working distance of around 3 inches

All C+C welcomed.

Thank God this is not actual size, although I do find the diagonal strand on the right a little distracting, but I guess that might be picky

Very nice Matt... only thing I would possibly change is just a little more room on the right (as you look at it)

Having tried handholding one of those lenses myself last summer I'm very impressed with this Matt - the dof is minute and as for focussing it....!!!

Great work Matt.

Must admit, the 65mm Canon is one of those lenses I miss having gone to Nikon. I've even considered getting a 5D (as they are going so cheaply) just for this lens

Hello Matt.

Excellent detail and I like the angle you have taken, Really shows the shape of the eye very nicely.
