Prairie Chicken
A 03:30hrs start in sub zero temps position to a hide at a lek and just prior to dawn the booming started. Well worth encountering the biting winds imho. Kansas

Canon 1D3 sigma 50mm-500mm ISO400 500mm f/9 1/500sec. Tripod

Critique comments advice always welcome.

Thanks for looking

Well worth all your discomfort, when you get a result like this. A truly superb shot, no crit’s, everything is spot on.

An odd looking bird Barry, but it looks a tad RED to me?

I have to agree with Stephen on this one.. A nice capture for that time of the morning and general conditions but might consider reducing the redness and lightening a little more.. Whilst I also understand your reasons for the title and © logo, I do find them a bit distracting in the frame and find it hard to look beyond them in this case..

Kind regards and thanks for sharing,

Very weird species and wel worth getting up that early for.
I too can see a slight red cast to the image.

I'm not sure where the red cast came from.

Does this work?
