I finally had a bit of luck with my local wild fallow herd this evening. I was watching them from a distance when something suddenly spooked them and they ran closer to me and then parallel, offering this opportunity.
Comments welcome!
Techs: 40d, 300mm w/ 2x, 1/250s @ f7.1 iso 640
Cropped to pano to cut out some power lines and get rid of some extra foreground, with lots of sharpening on the deer (my teleconverter is broken!) and a bit of NR on the background.

p.s. On a different matter... Anyone know what kind of cost I'd be looking at for repairing a sigma 2x teleconverter? The rear element has come loose. I'm trying to work out whether its worth it as I can get one new for £160...
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi Billy
That looks like a "ha ha " ( Old fashioned deer fence) the deer are running along the top of..
Most white Fallow in my area are taken out first as they spook the herd.
Good running shot though.
Cheers

Thanks John. Funnily enough there are lots of white deer near me as the farmers think its 'unsporting' to shoot them during the cull... Fair enough, they stick out like a sore thumb! Very useful when looking for the herd though!

It's a nice shot Billy, I like the contrasting deer.
