Finally got out for my first shooting of the year today. Rampart Range didn't pan out, as the clouds north and west of Garden of the Gods had pretty much dissipated. I headed to Cheyenne Cañon instead, and did some hdr stuff. This first one is the first series I took. I like the shot, but it's got some banding in the sky highlight zone that I need to fix.

I took this one a bit later, after the sun had a chance to clear the clouds a bit.

Looks like you're nailing down your HDR technique, dude. Both are great photos. I really dig the first one for the mood all those low lying clouds create. Let's see more!

And I'm a fan of the second, with the sun kissed ledge, dissapating fog and well exposed trees.
The type of HDR (and editing in general) work that I like is the type where I can't tell that any editing has been done. You succeeded well here with both!

I agree with John on your HDR work, and it's a very good series, Todd. Glad you could get out, and I always enjoy your posts.

They look great Todd. Wish I'd gotten out this morning with the weather as it was, but I caught a cold. Looks like there might be some more good weather this week though!
Really dig that 2nd one Todd. Frosted trees and sunlit clouds =

Both are great. I like the first one better. I think the dawn glow adds drama.
P.S. I can't take my eyes off the shots in your book. And you did that with film?!!?!!!???

I like these both, but the sense of depth in the first one really puts that one on top for me.

Oh Yeah! Great conditions, beautiful images. I like the first one best.

Im not sold on the first, but i love the second! Much more balanced, and the light is better.

I like the 1st one a bit better than the 2nd, because of the extra ridge line and the cloud bank. Both HDR treatments are really good. Should be some more frosted trees in the morning.
