I've been lurking here for about a year...decided it was time to register. I attended the April photo shoot at the tulip gardens in Woodburn, but didn't really meet anyone. Maybe next time.

I shoot a Nikon D40x.

This is an early summer shot of the rim drive at Crater Lake.

Welcome, Paul! You sure captured the feeling of winter letting go of the mountains. Might try a little more work on your exposure, as some areas of the white in the snow and the green in the trees look too light/bright. If you want the image critiqued, supply your technical info. That way you can benefit from more advice, if that is what you seek. Look forward to seeing you around the forum, and yes, maybe in the field, too. :wavey:

Paul,
Welcome aboard. Nice original first post though the image looks a tad soft on my monitor. Looking forward to seeing more of your shots.

Welcome Aboard, Paul! A good post and coposition. I agree with Catherine on the whites being a bit hot.
Looking forward to your next posting. You'll find a vast amount of knowledge and guidance here from folks that photograph and specialize in every subject category. Hopefully you will post often with image technical info and grow with the feedback from all.

Hi Paul - others have stated already what I would, but I wanted to welcome you to PNWNP. Keep posting and we'll keep commenting (we have to keep our ratios up... )

Welcome Paul! Crater Lake is beautiful place to shoot. The first thing that jumps out at me is the snow is pretty over exposed in several areas. If you have a RAW file you might try and double process this to bring that area of the image down some.
