Green Woodpecker
This guy turned up on the back lawn and brightened up what would otherwise have been a very dull day.

Taken through the kitchen window.

Hand held 1D3 500mm+1.4tc ISO 800 1/160 @ f5.6

Have a bean bag always to hand Paul, with that weight it's enough for anyone, especially hand held through a window  Looks a bit noisey, however it's always nice to see these guys

You did well here for handheld, perhaps a tad over saturated, but still an excellent capture.

Hi it's a nice enough image but there appears to be some form of vertical banding on the background which I find very distracting.

Phil.

I must admit I can't really see any banding, but people who know me may not be surprised about that. I too think that it is a little over-saturated, but I also think that it's a fine shot.

That "guy" is a gal! (Black vs red moustache).

I get them turn up in my garden as well, looking for ants/insects in the grass. You must have trees near you tho.

Noise might the glass. I regularly clean the glass for shots like this.

Nice and close tho :toast:
