This is an image that I discovered languishing in a file of unprocessed shots from last year and has only today been processed. Must try to improve my workflow to get stuff up to date. My problem is finding time, the Mr's isn't too fond of me being on the computer as well as being out with the camera!

A nicely detailed dabchick with a bright eye and better than anything I have. I love it when they're all fluffed up like this. I'm frustrated sometimes by how distracting small floating objects can be on still water around a bird and have occasionally cloned a few out. I'm not sure I would with this shot though.

Great shot Robert,
I would really like to see it with a lower POV but I think you tried that:)
I like it anyway.

Really nice capture, great detail and lighting. Like Edwin I think a lower POV would have been great..

nice shot, lovely lighting and pose, i too would have prefered a lower point of view and maybe a little less centrally composed

Quite nice lighting on this one Robert and I agree with John about the reflection. I always find water birds difficult to make into good shots and I admit I think that a lower PoV helps to make a shot stand out, but I like this one all the same. Eric

I can certainly relate to your time issues This is a lovely shot, I agree about the low POV, but the lighting and reflection really make this image.
Thanks for the comments, I too would have liked to try a lower POV but It was one of those chance occasions when the bird came close enough to a fixed public hide to get an image so I just had to take what was on offer.
