I'm seeking know how information from Avian photographers who have successfully photographed spring mating drumming of the male Ruff Grouse. How did you do it? Any examples of photographs?

Rohn, check out Khahn Tran's photos here (look through the different pages for Ruffed). I don't know him personally, but he is a very active birder and I would recommend e-mailing him for better info.
