A Predator's Point of View
Coastal Oaks at early afternoon in the Central Coast

Possibly a bobcat's hangout.

I was taking a gamble. There is some kind of bird skull in the bottom right. The was a pile of bones here but I thought just showing the skull might be a indicator, maybe not? Trying to find a third element in a scene can be hard sometimes. There were also some red berries hanging from the trees here but none close enough to the ground to put in a picture.

Steve, I cannot say at this size image on line I can make out the bird skull per se, but this massive oak is amazing. I find the Santa Rosa Plateau near me also has many oak trees and it is really a great place to hike around in too. This tree image in particular really shows off these wonderful coastal oak giants.

Here is what I was hoping to make some impact with but I guess it just my imagination fooling me.

Thanks Paul. These oaks were pretty cool how they grew on the ground. Haven't been out that way or even heard of the Santa Rosa Platuea. Saw it on the google maps.

Steve, now I can clearly see this. I was focused on this in the larger version, but I kept thinking it looked like legs of something. Now seeing it up close it looks like maybe a gull of somekind with that long beak or bill? Anyway, again at the original web size it was a bit difficult to make out. We sure come across some odd thngs out there in nature. However, your recent event with the gun discharges that you heard are always of concern. There are too many loose cannons in the world these days.

Steve,
gotta love those old oaks. Great form in this one.
