Windblown Bunting
Reed Bunting
One from the Autumn. Prior to this shot a Blue Tit had been pulling the Reed mace fluff out looking for seed or insects I suppose. Blew off and hung there just as I took the shot

That's brilliant John! I like the perch and the background just as much as the bird - certainly conveys the impression of wind. Highlights on the thick bit look a little bright maybe ( but I'm a poor judge of such things)

By the way, I've sat for hours recently at a reedbed near "my" pond waiting for one of these, a wren and a stonechat - seen them all but they've seen me too :frown:

Ian
Thanks
Yes they are.! I didn't really notice it until I looked at the uploaded image. (getting lazy !)
Easy to rectify I reckon. Just trying to find the pics of the blue tit that pulled all the fluff out !
Cheers

Hi John the position/pose of the bird, blurred BG and the reed mace about to blow away gives the image a real sense that the bunting is leaning into the wind!

I love the movement in this image. The way the bird is in line with the excellent perch is spot on.
Another cracker John
