Just catching up on some stuff from last year - perhaps it's even the year before!! As you may know, these birds breed right on the edge of their range in Scotland and as such, are extremely rare - around 50 pairs breed in the Highlands. This was a nice, calm morning when a grebe glided past close to the shore.

Pity about the head reflection going of the page - minor nit. ( You low POV ers ! )

Hi Peter,
This is a species i would love to have in my files!
Might go a tad darker for some more contrast in the image.
I personally like the low angle...
Great low pov!! The head turn really makes it allowing the light to catch that blood red eye, very nice!!!

nice shot, the background is great and that eye is fantastic, i reckon it could go a 1/3 darker, a bit central for me too, but that a matter of taste

Nice capture. As you know, I'm a fan of low POV in the right situation - send it to my pond please. I agree with the suggestion of slightly darker and less central.

Hi Pete, nice picture with good tones - maybe a shade darker as Jeroen has said but this could be down to monitor profiles. Not the best reflection but pretty damn good otherwise. Apologies for nit picking too much

A very nice image - I think I would prefer it a bit darker too.
