Wow, first post of 2009, can't believe it's nearly the end of Jan. The only time I had so far was spent working on these lovely birds up in the Moors.

This particular male stood up for a brief moment while we were enjoying ourselves playing hide-n-seek... not! The low view point with the distant background blur made this shot stand out. What do you think?

Thanks for looking. :wavey:

I do like this, but I'd crop quite a bit of the bottom to bring the bird lower in the frame as the OOF foreground is a little too much for me.

But that aside this is a good shot, well seen and captured

cheers

Excellent shot. Crisp and clean, and with great colour palette. Love the two oof green bits L and R which 'hold' the composition together - very subtle. Nice to have an image that gives the subject room to breathe too. Lovely as it is served currently imho!

Hello Des

Thats a cracker, beautiful light and I like your framing for this one I am now so tempted to go back and try for grouse again as I love these birds.

Works perfectly for me, and I am sure it would work perfectly for a page designer too as it has all that space for a title and copy.

I like this a lot the way it is and I think it would be good too with a slightly closer crop. The colours are just great.

Brilliant image, perhaps a tad too warm? But that is very very minor, commercially it works very well with a number of presentation options.

Different, but very nice. The colour in the BG is excellent & makes the bird really pop out of the image.

For me it looks a little lost in the frame, some sympathetic cropping would solve this tho’.

The exposure and detail on the grouse looks to be spot on.
