It's interesting when a baldie takes off and flies straight at you with that cross eyed stare! I almost stopped shooting since I thought he had gone 180 degrees the other way then I noticed he was getting bigger in the viewfinder!

incredable, to see such a buetifull bird of prey. reminds me of those owl pictures you see, except for this is way cooler. I am trying to get a photo of this eagle that hangs out in a tree on a hill by my house. are there any tips you can give me on how to get close and catch a photo like this. also is their any settings in the camera that will aid in doing this? Thank you Bill for sharing this awesome photo.

Nice shot, Bill. I'd love to get some nice eagle shots someday. We have some near my home but I haven't taken the time to seek them out yet. With that even, bland background you should be able to mask this guy out and paste him into anything you want (not that I advocate that kind of thing )

Great shot. You had some good fortune cuz anytime a bald eagle takes flight when it sees me, all I see is its rear end! Rarely will they fly at you unless they don't know you're there (or you're between it and a food source).

You've got to stop baiting them with dead mice on your head!
Great catch. Love that stare.

Heh heh....dead mice....good one!
So is this shot! I don't believe I've ever seen an eagle image like it.

OK you lot, I was in the car, think I'm stupid?! Maybe the car looks like a mouse? hmmm.
No but they mostly eat rancid fish that got stuck in the ice, hmm, does that mean that it could smell me?
I smell the blood of an Englishman... no that's not right I'm Scottish!
(I saw it fly into the tree with food so I figured it would head right back where the food came from so I just sat and waited, not too long as it turned out)

Wow, Bill, a diagonal comp, and that cross-eyed stare. Too good. Or as we might say, "Ruddy Brilliant"!

Oh man! So that is the trick - dangling a dead fish from the end of your lens! Great shot Bill!

Excellent capture, Bill. And you didn't have to go to Alaska to get it.

I'm with everyone else great shot... but once I saw that in the viewfinder my feet would have started to move quickly...

This is SUPERB! One of the best eagle shots I've ever seen.

Amazing Shot Bill! I LOVE the detailless white sky - it contributes to the intimidating and awe-inspiring presence of the eagle and gives the eyes nothing else to be distracted by. Great work!
