Something keeps drawing me back to Forks and the coast other than my accounts. No epic sunset on Monday just an approaching storm. 99.9%of Monday's images I've processed so far have been in B&W. Still its a great place to shoot even if you don't get your sunset shots. Little surprised when I woke up in the hotel Tuesday morning to a fresh pretty good blanket of snow, but by 8:00am it was just slush left.

Hi Ray,
What a nice scene! And a totally different take on a oft photographed site! My only nit is it seems a bit tight on the bottom. Maybe just a bit more room below the reflection? Otherwise I'm loving this quite well!! Great B&W treatment!!

I like the idea but the foreground is looking rather blobish to me in this view. Maybe moving up a foot or two would have given the reflection some breathing room and revealed some interesting details on the top of the rock.
I really enjoy this area, too. The last time I drove through Forks, the rain was coming down so hard that I couldn't see the car in front of me... and I got lost.
I wonder if a little more DoF or two merged frames would have given the farthest background a little more detail and definition, relieving some of the competition with the foreground. Personally, I like the angle you've chosen here as well as your black and white treatment.

What Mark said.

I agree with Mark about the height. I first thought that the perspective is a bit flat.....like the FG should lead you back into the scene. The layering of the different depths is just a little too abrupt here.
The processing on the FG is really nice.....almost a nice picture in itself if you just had a hazy horizon thre.

I agree with the comments on perspective, and having a bit more room for the reflection. But I really like the B&W treatment you've applied. There seems to be a lot of depth and texture throughout the image.

Thanks guys for all the feedback and comments. I actually shot this image at several different angles. Unfortunately I really had nowhere to back up to and a wider frame would present quite a few distractions. I should have tried shooting up a few feet as Mark and other suggested.
I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for taking the time and responding.

Very nice work, Ray.. not much to critique as it has all pretty much been said.. Like the B&W look you applied...

I'm another one for a higher perspective. The BW treatment is great, very well done. There is a bit of haloing/glow around the trees and rocks in the URC, sometimes this is due to web processing. But otherwise a fun and unique image!

Add me to the higher perspective and a little haloing crowd, but otherwise a really fine shot Ray. The foreground has a lot of interesting lines, and I like the placement of the rock in the upper left; the photo flows nicely there.
Love the perspective on this! Looks stark. Not sure if that feels to characteristic of this location, but it sure makes for an interesting image. Well done.
