Thats a lot of DOF!
I have to admit, I don't know the first thing about Dahlia's but with all the varying colors and looks that you've shot, I'm heading over to Google to get some education on 'em. Very nice image Ned, I bet it would look awesome blown up big, with a nice wide mat on someone's wall.
A 15 second macro!? Either you were extremely lucky with the lack wind or, this was indoors. What's the deal? I have to admit I'm not a real fan of dahlia shots - but the clarity and DOF in this one is outstanding. Nicely done.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, this was taken indoors - using what available light I had from a window...

This is great. A very different image from the the previous. The large DOF is a nice refreshing take on flower macro's, though I'm still partil to your previous post. I'm feeling like this one may be a little dark, maybe punch it up a little with a levels adjustment? Either way, these past two have been fun to look at!

My first reaction was this is REALLY purty! It appears a little dark to me to. Maybe brighten it slightly. Love the color!

Another winner Ned. I like the comp and colors of the last a little better, but it's a difficult choice. If it would have been possible to not clip the petal at the top just left of center I would like that, but knowing dahlias that would probably lead to the next petal looking clipped.
