Outstretched
Slowly processing more of my Short Eared Owl photos from a sudden shoot several weeks ago when I happened upon it feeding on the ground and then proceeding to hunt for another hour.

Canon 1Ds Mk III
500mm f4 IS
1/400, ISO 800, f4

Crop from original of about 40%
USM, selective saturation and luminosity in CS3

Very beautiful image. I enjoy the soft quality of the light and the subtle color. It's also very clean, which seems difficult to do with avian images. Looks great at this size Mitch!

Excellent capture, Mitch.

Great capture. I might try to crop it so the dark areas on the bottom are not in the picture.

Excellent, I like the soft blue/purple sky and the hint of motion

This is beautiful. I like how the blue at the bottom anchors the shot.

Wow, I love this capture! It has a nice symmetry with the vertical wings and horizontal body. Combined with the light makes for a lovely mood pic.

Good placement of the Owl within the frame, Mitch. The outstretched wings are a perfect pose.
