My new Canon 5D Mark II arrived yesterday, so naturally I sent some time shooting to get the feel of it. Unfortunately my computer will not open any of the RAW files I shot with this new camera in PhotoShop. I never had this problem with my 20D. In orded to read or look at the images I have to first open them with the software the came with the new 5D. Jpegs open the same as always. RAW files will not. Any ideas????

What version of Photoshop are you using? I believe you will need CS4 or Lightroom 2.2 to read 5D Mark II raw files.
Alternatively you can convert them to DNG format and you should have no problems.

Hi Mike!
Congrats on the new camera!! Give Carol a hug for me.
You'll need to download and install Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 so that ACR can read your new files. Pay close attention to the installation instructions.
Note that ACR 5.2 comes with individual camera profiles now which work really well for getting more accurate color.

Have you tried the Digital Photo Software that came with the camera on the CD driver installer software. Once you get that going just right click a file then go to "Open in edit window" you should be able to convert from there.

I have loaded the Adobe Camera RAW 5.2 and the Digital Photo Software that came with the camera, but I'm still getting a screen that says, "Unable to open file because its an incorrect file." message. Its gotta be something simple that I am overlooking.

Have you updated the camera's firmware? If so, I believe you will have to download the latest version of Digital Photo Professional.
