Just wanted to put this out there, in case anyone is planning on a trip to Alaska in the near future. Mount Redoubt (just over 100 miles WSW of Anchorage) has reached an ORANGE alert level status, and many volcanologists believe eruption may be imminent. Depending on the prevailing winds, the ash cloud (along with toxic gases) may ground air travel in and out of Anchorage Ted Steven's International Airport.
Just thought this might be of interest to some. Here is a link to the watch site, if you wish to follow along.
