Arapaho NWR
Sunrise from Owl Ridge in Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge, near Walden.

I made a quick two-day trip to meet some folks and strategize for future trips. I didn't see too much wildlife and the wind was unpleasant, but there were lots of golden eagles around, black-tailed jackrabbits (white otherwise) and large elk herds. The current snowpack isn't overly impressive, but still prevents venturing very far off of the main roads.

Well, if you were going for cold and wind-swept, you succeeded! Beauteeful!

It does look a little cold there Dave. Nicely captured.

This is a nice shot, Dave. If you had said it was from the Alaskan tundra, I would have believed you.

Always have wanted to explore that place, have passed by it a lot. Maybe in the Spring

Great shot! Really like the blue tones and the pink in the clouds.

Cold, lonely desolation. That's what I feel when I look at this image. Well done!
