Here's a second image from the full moon snow camping overnight I did back in January. It is a three image stitch. It is always a bit of a bummer posting panoramas because they have to be downsized so much. Still, I thought this was worth a share. It is fun to get great sunset colors right at the same time the full moon is rising. I wish I had set this shot up just a couple minutes earlier when the tops of the peaks were in the light. The peaks from left to right are Mt. McLoughlin, Pelican Butte, Brown Mountain and Mt. Ashland. The first full moon photo I posted was taken a bit later when the light of the moon, setting sun and landscape were all way out of balance and required a lot of post processing of multiple exposures to bring everything in. When this shot was taken all the light was in great balance, so other than the stitching and some slight dodging and burning very little post processing was needed.

Nice shot Sean. I'm sure a large print of this would be great. Considering the exposure range I can see why you had to spend considerable time in post processing. The fact that you spent time camping in January proves nice shots like this can be had if you are willing to challenge the elements.
Too bad we can't see this bigger. I wish we had that option in the forums as well as the critique galleries.
I like the shot overall, but I feel like it is a little tight along the bottom of the frame, and too much headroom at the top. Ideally, I think this would work best if the whole shot were panned down until the moon was roughly in the top 1/3 of the image. That may cause some problems with what is out of frame below, so I don't know if that would have been possible.

Really nice Sean, love the moon and that great sky color, the composition works fine for me. Well done!

Cool color in that sky Sean, McLoughlin has a nice glow on its tip too.

Nice capture of this early evening sky. Really like the moon in it.

Gorgeous. A 40" print would look amazing, no doubt!

Wonderful panorama that shows the beauty of Oregon in winter, Sean. Love the light, and that partially obscured moon is icing on the cake!
