this project has certainly been a challenge, 2 goldcrests are still in the same few trees, this is the best shot so far and taken today in rather challenging conditions. I thought they had disappeared.
focusing deep within pine trees is definitely interesting, i had some much better posed pictures, but they were all out of focus.

Keep at it, Mark. I for one would be pleased with this, and you are one turn of the head from someting really superb.
A very difficult subject to get at the best of times-just need that head turn and it will be a cracker

Nice image Mark, these birds can be a real pain to nail down at times. Keep at it i'm sure you'll get it right soon... or go mad... one or the other.

Hello Mark
Thats unlucky but don't give up keep trying and eventually everything will fall into place as this has the potential to be a belter.

It's still a lovely image!! When I was chasing these, I was surprised at the lack of great images of these on the web - this is up there with the ones I found.

Your nearly there Mark, a little head turn and this would have been an excellent capture.
