It was GREAT to meet some of you folks, thanks to Kenny, and Morris for the ride up, and for helping me break in my 5DmkII. The morning light without hardly any clouds was a let-down, but it was still a lot of fun to get out. It had been a long time since I had snowshoes on, and after leaving the military 5 years ago, I got to realize how out of shape I have become -- even a slight climb at elevation had me suckin wind :) This is actually gonna get me back in the gym for a bit -- and of course back out shooting more often.

We did make it to the lookout just above Nymph Lake... where I set-up just as the sun was bringing in first light. A small bit of cloud was visible, and had to use some PP to bring back some definition, and tweak a little. This is not one for the wall by any means, but it is my "Hey, I was there too shot". CC always appreciated!

Was a very enjoyable morning, and I feel blessed to be around such gifted people.

THANKS!

Hope to get out again real soon!

Dave, a great pleasure to meet you, and suck wind together. Nice shot. Looking forward to next time.

The link really shows the beetle kill trees. You are right, a day out pre-dawn climbing will remind you of your condition fast!

The FG kills this image - probably the best option would have been a tight shot of Long's and the small, colorful cloud.

I like how you got the only cloud in the sky Saturday Morning. I agree that the foreground does a lot of damage to the image.

I agree about the FG killing this.... Even with all the MP this camera brings, I couldn't find a crop I really liked that didn't have the beetle kill trees in it....
