I was at the canyon for the storm last week - 4 days total. The VAST majority of which was spent standing in 35 degree rain staring at a white abyss. Fog in the canyon and on the rim, and oh, did I mention the incessant rain? Shut out at sunrise and sunset by the rain all 4 days.
All the pics you have seen came from one day. All because I kept the faith...the faith that the canyon was out there somewhere.....

George, I did the same for the BIG snowstorm back in December. I spent almost 4 days standing in snow, sitting in snow, sitting in a tent, and sitting in my car. It was a whiteout 90% of the time - plus the road past Yaki out to Desert View was closed. But damn, when it was done (36+ inches) and the clouds cleared, it was worth it!
I'd never had the pleasure of waking up to an alarm every 2 hours to shovel out a tent due to drifting and falling snow. Boy is that fun times.

That's good to know, George. The reason I asked was, many of the shots you've posted struck me as images from the archives. I found myself looking at them in wonderment, then thinking to myself, "Great shot, but what have you done for me lately?!" I consider myself to be only as good as my current body of work, and rightly or wrongly, I look at others that way, too.
As for this shot, I think I like this one even more than the other ones from this storm, EXCEPT for that dark gray cloud mass on top. It's visually intrusive, and looks more like equipment vignetting than clouds to me.

Wow, this one is spectacular, George! Such a variety of layers, in the midst of all those clouds. Awesome.

Good job for sticking out with the weather. These have been fun to view. Makes me want to take a road trip!
I agree with Todd that the dark layer at the top doesn't add much. Cool layers!
