The Sanderling has turned up quite frequently on this form lately, so I hope you are not bored with another one.

Nice work Sandra, Good detail and setting but a little shame it wasn't higher in the frame so we could see more of the reflection.. From that I might take a bit of the top to balance it up a bit..
Kind regards,
Brett

I agree with Brett about the reflection, but other than that a superb shot with the whites handled very well.

Lovely! Nice details and colour. I like the raised foot. Agree about the refllection, but that's minor.

Hi Sandra, nice capture and I like the water droplet on the bird's beak.

Hello Sandra.
You have captuted the Sanderling beautfully, really like the pose with the raised leg and the water drop on the beak.
The only nit is the composition. As the Sanderling is in the lower half of the picture and the top half is empty. ( although it is a nice back drop ) It makes you want to see the reflection even more. I feel if you do crop some of the top, this would put even more impact of the Sanderling, and take some of the need to see the reflection away. If this was mine I think I would crop just above the out of focused water in the top third of the picture. For me the out of focused water adds some depth to the image so I would keep this in.
A very nice Sanderling.... never tire of seeing images of them.... do agree about the composition though... it does need more room below and less atop.....
Great exposure with detail perfectly maintained...
Thank you all for your comments. I fully agree about the composition and therefore I’ve posted another crop. As you can see there is a small strip of sand in the water, which causes the problem. It is such a pity, but nothing much you can do about it. The only thing is perhaps trying to clone it out.

Just my thoughts.
