Gannets
I have nothing new and little prospects for a few days, so this is from a while back. This hangs on my wall as a reminder of a great trip to Bass Rock. Hope to repeat it this summer. There are special boat trips arranged for photographers only. If anyone fancies going sometime, let me know. (the techs are buried somewhere!)

Found them: 1D2n, 70-200mm f2.8 is, 1/500s, f7.1, iso 200.

That's nice Ian, although I can't work out how just the tip of the bill is blurry :jump: and yes I would love a trip to Bass Rock

I agree! Just looked up the raw file which is tack sharp. Processing was a hit and miss affair for me then, even more than it is now, but clearly I did something daft!

Here's another version - I'm going to have to print this again now! I'ts a large crop but still looks ok at A3 size.

Both are super shots Ian, the Gannet looking straight at the camera makes the shot for me, top work.

I really like it, it is very easy on the eye, with the shapes and subtle colours, nicely done.

That's great Ian. They are such a photogenic species. I'm up for a trip to Bass Rock. I usually goto Isle of May so a new location would be great.

An excellent close up portrait, very intermit, I can see why you have it on your wall. An excellent shot.

Wrote above, then found second shot scrolling down.

The second shot is equally as good, you did really well here.

Two superb shots.
