Took a peek at next Saturday Mornings RMNP forecast, and it right now looks like snow on Sunday, but we could have some increased clouds in the morning on Saturday Sunrise.
From my miss last Saturday, I now have a better feel on how long its gonna take me (Need another 20 mins or so...
I may head up and try it again -- Anyone else game?
We could also hit another spot -- I am very flexible, and can provide transport from Parker...

Dave,
I would agree with the forecast that there should be clouds Saturday morning. How much and at what level is not completely clear at this time. One thing you left out of your forecast comment is the wind. The models suggest that it could be windy on Saturday morning as well. Might want to keep that in mind if you are going up to dream.

I think the weather guys should try to predict when it won't be windy up here. Over 90% of the time, the winds are howling up here in the winter, including today.

It is easy to predict wind this year. Just say "Yes, it will be windy!" It is like the large-scale patterns don't want to change. Over the next week it looks like more of the same - storms come and go but the wind remains the same...
Persistence is key -- The wind should be strong, but "manageable" -- far from ideal, but we MAY have some good early morning color in the sky at sunrise. Perhaps snow starting by Sat Afternoon.... around 3-4pm.
I am not so eager to buy into your cloud/precip. forecast at this time. Been burned too many times to trust a 48 h model forecast. I see the NMM has a thick layer of high clouds across SE and E CO and over the mountains Sat. morning. Could be a "filtered light" situation if the model is correct and high clouds dominate the morning sky. Tough call. Best to keep an eye on this situation just in case....

I'm thinking about a Saturday trip to dream myself, but I don't think I would want to carpool. The wind is unfortunately a fact of life up there, but it keeps the ice clear of snow.

Because of the length of the drive, I've decided to go to another location. Have a good one Dave. It should be a good morning at Dream.
