Well, we got our share of snow and ice in Kentucky. In fact, we had some recreation areas and forests close, too. The weekend thaw didn't get rid of it all, and four inches of snow followed early this week. It's been dangerous to get out of town, but I have been lucky enough to keep power the whole time. Even had a friend without power bring his dog and stay the night last week. Got a little chance to roam around with a camera on Saturday. Here's one I came up with. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful. Vivid colors and contrast. Nature in all its wonder.

Nice shot. The sharpness of the limbs really makes the shot. The cloud behind the tree is a nice offset to a pure blue sky. It gives the shot a little different (softer) appearance.

Beautiful work as usual, Dominic. I love the contrast. I'm trying to decide if the sky color is a result of some dark gray clouds, or if the sun was so bright. In any case, the color is really nice too.
Bill, The sun was very bright. In fact, after about ten straight days of gray skies, it was a challenge to walk around without sunglasses. The bright sun and snow was pretty overwhelming, but welcome nonetheless.
Great composition and color. I like the placement of the cloud behind the snow-draped tree. Glad you didn't lose your power in all that mess. Even though ice storms are beautiful to photograph, they aren't any fun to live through.

A great combination of elements with the ice & snow laiden tree, fluffy clouds and deep blue sky. Glad to hear you escaped the worst of it Dominic. Thanks for sharing.
