Sliding Light
A shot from last Saturdays trip through the Flinthills with Wayne. The sunrise was on the cold side but very lovely to watch.
I worked this image intentionally toning down the overall brightness in an attempt to bring out just a few points of brighter interest this being some sky and the gentle morning light as it slides down the northern facing hills.

Canon 17-40 f/4L USM @ 17mm
Exposure: 1/4 @ f/11, ISO 100, Average Metering
Crop: 75% of Original

I'll have to look at this at home on the good monitor but I already know that I like the darker mood you captured here. The emphasis on the light hitting the ridges creates a very nice compositional element.

I've got one on my CF card of you shooting this scene but hadn't processed it yet. I just might have to share a shot of Brad Mangas in action with the others!

This is really great, I like the dark scene with the light just touching the hill tops. For me this photo gives a great sense of anticipation, waiting for the sun to fully come out and light up the hills.

Well done Brad. I like the blue blending to pink to light orange in the sky. The trees/bushes in the hollows lead the eye into it without you realizing they are there.
