I wish you could choose where they land but alas, I'm happy to get what I could with the weather the way it has been, very overcast and dull.. Would have liked it to be looking straight at me but it never happened..!
So it's a first for me in terms of relative success with the subject and I was quite pleased with this one.. Will try for more over the coming days..
Kind regards
Brett

Given the lighting conditions that we were shooting in today this is a great shot. The post may not of been the best the bird could have landed on but hey you gotta start somewhere! lol

Exactly !
Great bird but a slightly strange perch to be really picky.

Hi,
Great shot, love the perch, I would love a shot like this my SEO's are all in flight in poor light.
Well done

the perch may not be ideal Brett but I would love to see that bird through my viewfinder! I've only ever managed a few distant shots of one a few years ago. Perch, aside you've captured the bird very well.

Hi Brett the Owl is perfect but I do not like the post.
Great great shot. If you download a 30 day trial of Capture 4.6 it has a tool called the color editor. With this you can select (by pixel) only the red on the post and use the huw and saturation tools to make it a little less in your face. The tip is to select several area's of the red color to make sure you work on all the tones within the color! This isn't designed to change the color to, lets say blue but it will help to tone it down. Best of all is, if you save it as a "style" you can apply it to other shots with the same post in and it will oly work on that color.
