I have been watching and waiting for more snow. Lon made an end run a couple of weeks ago a caught a light snow. See his nice shot on ESS if you haven't already. But that has been it since the Christmas snow.
Hopefully we get into a good 'Colder' pattern now as Winter has just been too warm up there. I talked with a girl who went skiing at Heavently earlier this week and even at 10K they had rocks all over the mountain with minimal man made coverage.
Derek, thanks for posting the update and the link too. Everytime I see the Mono Lake view with the Shell Gas Station and the parking lot for the small motel I stay at up there, it gives me recall to my vehicle being stuck right there with a dead battery last October.

Paul,
A dead battery is never fun. But on photo trip it is really a bummer.
Hey I checked it just a few minutes ago and there was an Awesome sunset over Half Dome from below Sentinnel Dome. Here is a screen grab of it: http://landandseaphoto.smugmug.com/photos/469365162_S7jad-L.jpg. I can only imagine how good this would look when taken from a decent camera.

Hey, checkout the webcams! It snowed again and looks like more snow throughout the week.
Michael - I'm scheduled to head up to Yosemite the following Friday onthe 20th. Anyone within earshot of this forum is more than welcome to join. I'll be staying at the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal. My friend Kyle from AZ will be with me and I already have a couple other friends who will join us for the day on Saturday.
These recent storms may give us some hope for Horsetail falls as well.
Come one, come all... :-)

Man, the snow is looking good today on the Yosemite cams!!!
Lon, I may try and make it up there with my family over that weekend of the 21, 22. But I will have to sneak in some photography since it will primarily be our family snow play time.

All the snow had melted on the valley floor. Now there is a little white covering: http://www.tranquilityimages.com/cams.shtml
I also need to take my kids up there before they go crazy. This is there first Winter without seeing snow in a long time.

Looks very promising for more snow up there this week. Maybe next weekend?
