Fieldfare
Young oaks still have their protective leaves on which are good backdrops this time of year.
Had a fall of these birds in yesterday. Didn't stop long though.
Room Window.
Usual set up.

Quite colourful image John. Not too sure about the stump.
Did you chuck a load of apples out to tempt them in?

Wow - great to see some colour at this time of year! Great shot again.

Hi Nick
I agree about the stump but the trouble is its for other stuff and when something unexpected turns up you grab it ! I could do a clone on it I suppose to lighten it up..
Yes I do put apples out on top of a cut hawthorn hedge which runs at right angles towards the window. I cut them in half then shove them on spikey bits to stop the blackbirds and other stuff clearing off with them. Got some really nice material in the snow this past two days but still processing ! The fieldfares were taking rose hips and doing a fair bit of gagging !!
Cheers

Thanks Ian
The young oaks are supposed to keep their leaves as frost protection. Whatever they are a great colour.

Beautifully sharp, and those leaves in the background set the whole thing off very nicely.

Excellent! Great colour, fantastic detail and sharpness! Don't mind the stump myself. Nice pose too!

A very good looking & colourful image. The leaves have made a great background & I like the stump. The details in the bird & the pose are spot on too.
Another cracker John.

John, looking at your work before taking the plunge and joining this group was one reason for my joining. You pictures always seem to have depth of colour, birds that seem to pose for you,you have more backgrounds than Pinewood studios, exquisite detail and from what you say if the weather is not to your liking you do it all from indoors, amazing!
