B/W snowscape
wasn't entirely sure what to title this one, since i didn't want to call it moorhen in the snow, interested to hear what people think of this

40D + 300mm F4L
1/500ish @ F5.6
ISO 640
FULL FRAME

Great environmental shot and you can even get 2 separate images out of this frame that stand up on their own (top and bottom letterbox crops). As a whole frame some people may quibble about the blank white area in the middle but it doesn't worry me adversely.

If I'm honest it doesn't really grab my attention. Maybe if the bird was in a better pose or had some detail to it it would work more for me?!

Nice enviromental image & the wing feathers on the moorhen stand out nicely against the snow.

Not for me, but saying that, I keep on coming back to it, as it definitely has something. I think it’s the “crispness” of the Moorhen which is so easy to identify, and does keeps on drawing my eye.

Perhaps cropping might work, but I do feel that there is something here, and as such worth keeping for further thought.

Hmmm? I can't make my mind up. It is definitely not a bad shot, and it was certainly worth a try, especially as it is so hard to get a different moorhen shot. Just seems to be missing something to me.
