1st Gannett Flight Shot
Taken at a very windy & very cold Bempton cliffs. The birds were flying very fast with the strong wind behind them & I found it difficult to keep them in the frame. This is one of just acouple of keepers from dozens of shots.

Any comments / advice welcome

Lee

Borrowed Canon EOS 1D3, 500mm F4, 1.4TC Tripod & Wimberly.
Av mode F5.6, 2000th, ISO 400, -1/3exp, RAW, Almost full frame

The classic shot, composed to perfection, an excellent shot, exceptionally well seen and taken.

Including the chip crop factor that's a 910mm angle of view you are trying to track a big fast bird with Lee - a bit of a big ask

Usual Bempton flight rig would be 300mm f2.8, 200-400, 100-400 or 400 prime - easier to track these big fast marvels hand held.

You've done well to get this :wavey:

Lovely shot and looks good isolated against the clean blue background. Nice one.

Hi Lee,

Considering this was your first time using a big prime you've done a very good job, long lense technique takes time to master, it took me months before I managed a sharp shot with that lense, the bird is sharp and well exposed and the comp is good, like it.

Shep...

Superb... I'd love one like this. Are they quicker than Puffins? If they are, you are a master. If not, then a doddle
