Whilst researching my local patch for the first time yesterday for shorties I came across 5 hunting, there was some scrapping but it all happened to far out on the marsh to photograph. This guy came the closest for a shot.
Went back tonight and sat camo'd up in the marsh hoping for a closer shot but no show from anyone.

Like this a lot Trevor, especially the back lite wings & tail. Personally I would prefer the SEO a tad closer but you can't have it all. Did you manage to get any shots with 2 of them in the frame?
Thanks for the call today, glad to be of assistance

Unfortunately not Vince. To be honest I only had a couple of hours and had the dog with me so nearly left the camera in the car. Was gob smacked, because as the words "have you seen any SEO's" came from my mouth towards the warden, we saw them at the same time heading our way.
There were making a right old noise while having the ding dong..
I'll be back for sure over the next week.

A very nice environmental shot, showing the Shortie doing it thing. Nice one.

Thanks for the comments. It was amazing to see 5 the warden reckoned that was the norm and some local walkers told me that they come out as early as 3pm. Apart from the 2 that had a quick fight they seemed to know each others paddocks and kept apart and only hunted their own.

Very nice, good pose and composition. I'd love to see one of these!
