Met up with Jim Pelzmann along with my neighbor Dean, and eventually met Fred (on the trail) for a Sat Morning Hike into Dream Lake. Some light snow over-night, and drifting, made for a good hike into Dream... Snowshoes were a must. I was late getting there, but with some rests along the way -- and persistence I did make it this time :)
What a beautiful morning -- Light Winds, a light dusting of snow (The lake it self was completely snowcovered vs last week were it had blown off the ice. So no good "ice shots" but I was able to capture this....
Will tweak it more after a nice afternoon nap :)
Nice to meet you Bill and Fred! The folks here are amazing!
I really like this...to me (maybe it's my laptop screen), bu this almost looks like a painting, which is a great thing! I think the soft light on the mountains and in the top 1/3rd of the picture create this...at least to me. Nice job. It's good to see at least some places in Colorado still look like winter.

Nice composition.
Could sure use a Levels adjustment, though. Looking forward to seeing the tweaked version after you awaken.
Dave, congrats on making it all the way. I like the comp and the light here. I think John is right about some levels, so we'll see it when you catch up on your sleep.

I tweaked it, levels and sat. Apologies if this offends. It was such a cool image I couldn't resist.

Dave, I'm so glad that I joined you and Dean for my first trip to Dream Lake - especially since you did all the driving.
Finding a trail through all the fresh snow added a bit of "adventure" to the experience.
I'm sure I'll never exerperience another wind-free morning at Dream Lake!
Congrats on making it up that last stretch from Nymph Lake.
I like Bill's tonal adjustments. I think opening those shadows really helps.
I'm curious about your choice in WB. Was that camera selected or did you intentionally warm it in post-processing?
Bill's increase in saturation really emphasizes it, and at that time of day , those clouds were NOT yellow.
I think the "sunrise" interpretation works, however, I'd be concerned if the 5D2 selected that as a default.
Bill -- The WB was done in PP -- I will send you the raw file like you asked so you can take a peek to compare against your 1DmkII
Few weeks on the treadmill and stair-master and I will be in peak form for spring ;) I don't give up easily, kind of my nature, I guess
Bill -- I don't mind at all -- I have much to learn in PP, and realize that I am only scratching the surface with what I can do with my images... Actually appreciate what you did, I am messing around some more today. and your edits gave me some ideas to try -- Need to work more with the Curves Brick.
Spent the morning trying to get my image library organized in Apple Aperture -- BIG job
