This is something from last spring taken with a camera trap. I was trying for badgers but quite happy with this. Eventually they got so relaxed with the kit that started to drag it down their hole and chew on it so that was the end of that.
Hello Andrew, post this at 720 pixels and it will look a lot better. My first thought was you cropped it too tight but the more I look the more I like it. If this is full frame then you were indeed very skilled / fortunate with the framing. I particularly like the hang dog expression.

I'd like to see this bigger too! My first thought was for the clipped ear but given it was shot with a trap camera it's not something you can help. Regardless I think it's a nice shot but would definitely like to see it bigger!
Would have liked the image to have been larger, it can be upto 720 pixels along the longest side. At this size it is difficult to fully appreciate it, but I’ll have a go.
The proportions are right for full frame, which is a pity as it looks like the paw is cropped and the ear is borderline.
I assume that you are using an infra-red triggering device and that you are away from the camera, and not sitting up in a tree watching, this takes your scent off the ground. I think you have several alternatives open to you. Firstly, you don’t state the lens used,, but one of the alternatives open to you is to use a wider angle lens, the second is to increase the distance between your camera and trigger, by moving one or the other, and I suspect the camera is your best alternative.
This is one of the most difficult ways of obtaining an image, as you have to guess at so much.
Looks like you have good detail and the exposure also looks to be right. If it had been smaller in the frame, then I think you would have had a cracking shot here.
Keep at it, you have a good foundation to work from here.

I really like this! The pose and expression is great, and the composition is great too. It is a bit tight in the frame, but there isn't much you could have done there, if you were using the sort of camera trap that I'm thinking of. The expression and background really makes it.
