Black Headed Bunting (M)
Taken on the island of Lesvos, and is one of my bankers as a species. Nothing clever, just saw this male, so I just rolled my car into position for this shot. Taken near to my last posting of a B.H. Bunting, comment was made about the shadow laying across it, this is due to another “twig” protruding from the prevailing scrub.

Taken from car, 600mm f/4, 1/160 sec @ f10, tripod mounted, electrical cable release used. Full frame, I know crop the right.

Normal Photoshop procedure, whatever that is.

Hope to back April/May this year, so if anyone is passing pop in for a cuppa, and I’ll show you around and hopefully put you onto the odd subject or two. Last time I made such an offer, I had a guest for a fortnight.

Great shot Ray! An exposure very difficult for the black eyes in a black head, but you do it perfectly.

Now that's a cracker! I was indeed going to suggest a crop from the right, but the inclusion of the whole flower head adds to the shot.

Pristine looking BHB Ray. If you new about the right why didnt you crop it?
Like the vibrant colours on this and dare I say it if your guest was female lucky you. :toast:

Major.

I didn’t crop it, as I think it is better to post full frame so that those viewing any image think about them, and aren’t influenced by the authors interpretation, as to what they think is best. They could be wrong.

Besides, posting full frame is how I can learn as well, thought that someone might suggest flipping it, I would have.

Now about that “lodger”, I’ve been married for 38 years, this year, and like most men, I’m scarred stiff of her who is to obeyed. Beside the lodger was the strangest female I’ve ever met, answered to the name of Mike Lane.

Lovely image Ray, I would agree with a small crop from the RHS. A lovely looking bird, puts me in mind of a sparrow that has gone amok with the make up.

Great record shot. I think the compostion is fine. Great how there is detail in the dark bird and light flowers (Alexanders I think), not easy to do in what looks like nice sunshine.

A very nice looking colourful image. Well exposed in what looks like strong sunshine (of what I remember of strong sunshine) Why crop when the comp is ok straight fro the camera.
