Another shot from Florida, taken at Siesta Key and looking out over the Gulf of Mexico. I was doing some long exposures of the beach after the sun had set and had spotted this GBH further up fishing. After 10 minutes or so of me standing around he flew over and landed just in front of me and proceeded to stalk his prey. He would stand still for ages sometimes so I thought I'd try and get a slow exposure shot with him nice and sharp. Unfortunately it never quite worked as he would always move a little during exposure, this was the best attempt. He only moved a little but enough to render him slightly transparent I still quite like the shot though even if it wasn't quite how I wanted it!
This works for me, it has for want of a phrase, “life in it”. O.k. the heron isn’t sharp, but I don’t think that is a major concern, as the balance of the image more than carries it. Nice one.

Great shot ,which is asking for text on the bottom right .

Yes a very nice and restful image... not too sure about the edge of the water on the right hand side as it grabs my eye and leads me out of the picture away from the Heron...

Really nice, the colours are lovely. I don't mind the slightly transparent heron, it's atmospheric!
That is a really good, lovely and different image... to an extent it is the cross between landscape and wildlife as not only do you appreciate seeing the bird but you also what to be there bird or no bird.
