Just returned from an excursion over to the Falling Water Road/Richland Creek area, and am happy to report minimal damage from what I could see. As everyone has probably read or heard, the higher elevations are quite a different story - widespread devastation. It will be quite some time (years I suspect) before hikes along unmaintained trails at higher elevations will be passable. Bushwacking there has likely become treewacking.
Anyway, there was quite a bit of water in the creeks, making for some nice winter scenes. The witch hazel (shown here) is blooming too.

And another water abstract...

I really love both of these photos but the first one is really outstanding. I really like the positioning of the leaves with the waterfall in that first shot.

Bill, a really nice take on Falling Water Falls. I like you abstract also. Be careful out there!

Ok, Tom correct me if I'm wrong but Falling Water Falls was the first place we went this past fall right? I'm almost sure of that and if I'm right we crossed the stream and were shooting from the opposite side.
Oh, I almost forgot ... great images on both counts Bill!
Bill, as usual I'm backwards on these photos. Scott and Tom liked the Falling water falls best but I am really drawn to your abstract. I'm jealous also, our streams up here never clear up that much. Even after the longest winters the bottoms are still brown with algae.

Beautiful images, Bill - glad you weren't ensnared by the witch hazel. That stuff is great!

Wayne, you are correct, Falling Water Falls was our first stop and we did cross and shot from the opposite side.

Really beautiful images Bill and thanks for the report. I was curious how things would be around that area.
