Chase County Waterfalls
This is a shot from some waterfalls I have been trying to find for awhile now. These are located at the Chase County State Fishing Lake and I had gone to the lake to find them before, but never did go far enough across the dam to locate the trail leading to them. Not much water running when I was there, but I'm sure this spring there will be a lot more. There are actually 3 different 'waterfalls' here so should be lots of opportunities. I was there right at noon so the light wasn't the best, I had to shoot off to the side or crop in tight to avoid shooting right into the sun. This is a place I will visit many times in the future I'm sure.

Maybe this would be a place to visit on the 21st for anyone that goes down to the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve.

You already beat me to it Scott. If you can point the way we may just add this to our list of potential sites for the day. Shoot me an email on how to get there if you don't mind.

This looks like it could have potential in the right conditions. Thanks for scouting it out and sharing it with us.

Scott, I'm surprised there is much if any water over the falls now as dry as it's been. I usually try to get there several times a year but have never been there in the winter.

Wayne, if we do indeed gather at Emma Chase's Cafe, we will only be a few miles from the spot. It might be worth visiting as you and Scott have suggested.

Here's a spring shot.

Looks like your making the rounds of east central Kansas Scott. Always nice to see all it has to offer.
I fished Chased Co. Lake many times years ago when I lived in Emporia, and never did check out the falls. Thanks for sharing.

Nice capture with the lighting on top of the falls. I'm looking forward to shooting it on our gathering.
