I'll be spending four days starting this weekend in Utah (Alta and Deer Valley). It will be mostly skiing but I'd love to squeeze sometime before and after skiing for some photography. Any suggestion?? Thanks!!

Tien, if you are a good skier, go also to Snowbird, which is close to Alta. It is the best ski resort in Utah with most advanced terrain.
As far as photography, there are some amazing mountain views from Alta and Snowbird resorts. You would have to hike up early before resort opens to get some nice shots. It is challenging to get some shots from the resorts without chairlifts or cables. For that reason, I always go backcountry in Cottonwood Canyons to get away from any manmade stuff and to get beautiful and quiet scenery to photograph.
Deer Valley is perhaps the best ski resort in Utah when it comes to luxury service and groomed terrain. In fact, it was rated the number 1 ski resort in the US this year in Ski Magazine. It's huge and beautiful. You will love it. Have fun! We just got 2 ft. of fresh snow today. Conditions are amazing and you will experience the best snow on earth. It's heavenly here in winter.
