Hi,

Spent the best part part of the weekend after images of these birds at the site where Tony and Brett have been seeing them on a regular basis. Well they obviously don't work weekends, no siting at all on the Saturday, highlight of the day was Tony's super cooked breakfast, cheers Tony, must repay your hospitality one day....

Sunday we trecked the local Bays for waders in the morning again with not a lot of luck and retuned to the Owl site for the afternoon, hung around for what seemed like ages, Brett and myself were just leaving when Tony Rang to say one had turned up. Managed a few inflight shots but mainly too small in the frame for me....

I now have two mediocre images of Short Eared Owls, needless to say if the weather is kind next weekend I will be back...

All the best

Phil

It's not too small in the frame for me Phil. No nits, but in a perfect world that wingtip would have been above the horizon. Nice enironmental image.

Nice one Phil, I like the wing below the horizon, it connects the bird to the habitat, rather than separates it!

Works for me too. I have had 4 sessions with our (not very) local shorties and never had one this big in the frame.
