The last one !.
This was the shot that evaded me, the hen bird coming down from the bushes. She would usually land 30 to 40 ft away then walk the rest. It was always evening and she came out of the shade by the bushes, the whole flight lasted may be two to three seconds, of the twenty or so opportunities I had this was the only half decent frame, its not that sharp, it is only 30% of the frame but it gives me hope. They are surprisingly fast and not that big, that’s my excuse anyway. No more L/O pix until the summer!.

Lovely capture Bob, very nice wing shape, is it coming into land or has it spotted some prey.

Andy...

Wow, great action shot, love the pose with talons forward, well caught! The grey background sets the bird off nicely!

Thanks for your comments, the bird was coming in to join two of its chicks that were ground feeding , sham it was not for a mouse.

It has its faults, but the action really carries this shot. You have a great foundation and knowledge base here to expand on in the forthcoming season, just some lateral thinking is all that is required.

An excellent capture, well worked and taken.
