As some of you know, I use RPT cases from photobackpacker in a Kelty Redwing pack as my main camera bag. With my recent purchase of another 4x5 camera, I needed a larger case than my Shen Hao uses, so I ordered one. While verifying the correct order with Bruce, I casually mentioned that one of the zippers on the case that I use for my DSLR had come off and asked if there was a way to repair it. He immediately stated that it would be replaced for free. Both cases showed up today - sweet!
That kind of service is nice and deserves a plug. I've been very happy with the cases and have experienced no damage to any equipment since using them despite some rough handling.
Thanks, Bruce!

I'll second that vote for RPT cases. They are well made and the company is very prompt in their customer service.

Took a look, very cool. Seems that the site is set-up for Medium/Large Format gear. You mentioned using your DSLR, was this is a separate LightGear case? does this system work well for us 35mm DSLR folks?
I really need a better way to project all this expensive gear -- anyone have any other backpack suggestions?

Dave,
For DSLR/lenses you basically use the larger cases and partition them with a special kit of dividers and velcro that Bruce sells. I use a C00894 case and carry my body (5DII) with a lens attached, another smaller lens (17-40L), and a med telephoto (Sigma 70-300) with room for a CF case, shutter release, filters, rings, etc around the edges. The cases designed for LF lenses could be used for med/large telephoto lenses. All of the cases have velcro on the bottoms and sides, so by using the velcro backing board, you can build a system that stays in place and fits into many packs with room for other gear.
If interested, I'd suggest calling Bruce. He'll tell you if his cases will work for what have and want them to do.
