Konik horses
I'm not sure if it's OK to post this as konik horses are not really a wild species and I don't think it's very clear whether the tarpan was a true wild species either. However they are increasingly being used as a conservation management tool and so I guess this could be seen as a nature photo.

I was actually photographing action elsewhere in the herd and turned round to grab this, hence high speed.

Interesting image, i like the shot, not a "wild" species but what horses are these days?

I really like this image very different from the norm, I like the inclusion of the other horses in the BG. Where was it taken?

This image is enhanced by the careful use of those BG horses. Nice one. :toast:

An excellent “grab” shot, wish mine would turn out like this. The other members of the herd, balance the shot nicely. Really great, well seen and taken.

Nice the ponies in the bg do make the image, just wonder about including some more of the shoulder just to give the neck and head a bit more support.... not really a nit.

Thanks. Yes, it was the horses in the background that drew me to the image.

Colin. This was taken at a Wildlife Trust nature reserve in Kent where I'm working on another project. There are quite a few of these horses around the country now, usually in wetland areas. They are incredibly hardy.

Cheers

Nice work Terry, I can see that the KWT would have many uses for this kind of work..

This shot keeps growing on me Terry. Along with the others I really like the background horses. They have an almost prehistoric look to them
