What got me thinking about wanting to see more OT pics from our brethren was a revelation I had recently. It went something like this:
I love, love, LOVE photography. Photography is more than pretty pictures of Colorado's beauty. So why am I limiting myself to that subject?
To that end, I've been trying to expand my repertoire lately, just for the fun of it. Here's some recent results. The first two are from earlier today.

And here's a few food shots I took a few weeks ago:

More raspberries...

And celery stalks. I used 7-Up to increase the bubbles. That is all.

Man, these rock! They are just all awesome, and I agree with you that we would do well to explore other subjects besides Colorado beauty. I think it keeps us fresh.
I also go to Photo.net, and Betterphoto.com to review others creativity, and is there ever a lot of creativity out there. Mankind never ceases to amaze me in the different mediums and styles within each medium
that they express themselves in.
Maybe there is a need for another forum or two.

Cool, Todd. I love the color treatment, intentional or not, in #1. It looks like a colorized B&W. I'd like to see #2 the same with just the sign in color. The food shots have me thinking. I'm looking forward to getting out with my new 65mm MP-E for some macro fun. I'd like to get some snow/ice crystals. I've got a flash on the way and need to get a macro rail but I'll be out messing around in the mean time.
Love the bubbles!

Wonderful images Todd! The first one really has a lot of feeling to it! I really like the comp and tone!

Hey Kalin, #1 is just a b&w adjustment layer, which I toned blue, then masked it out where the red stripes are. I tried the same treatment on #2, but it didn't look nearly as nice as it does with the yellow grasses and dark sky.

Great thread, Todd. Thanks for the inspiration. I like them all.
You already know this is the kind of stuff down my alley. Keep em rollin.

NICE work Todd. The first two definitely appeal to my sensibilities. I bet you could sell a lot of prints of that first one. What a killer image.

I tweaked the first one, and then added an Orton effect to it. I think this is better.

I like the grittiness of the 1st version, personally. Yet, I appreciate the way the subject really pops out in #2. They're both pretty damn awesome.

The first version works better for me. I love the idea of using 7-Up to increase the number of bubbles in the celery pic.

Wow, what a series, I especially liked the celery, great idea using 7up. 7up could work with a lot of other subjects as well.

You're the only person I know who can turn strawberries into porn.

Todd those are great...I agreee, I take photos of whatever hits my fancy, nature or not. I especially like the celery.

I could use a pic of a breakfast burrito about now
I think these are great Todd. I love the first, altho i much prefer it without the orton effect, with the metallic/rusty subject the softness just kills it IMO. The second is cool too but the sky seems a bit funky. Im defintiely partial to food shots, and the celery shot rocks (id probably photoshop a mermaid swimming in it) Nice stuff!

Dude, that stop sign photo is INSANE! So very cool. All are nice but that one just blew me away.
Love'em all Todd, but especially #1. Maybe it's the patriot in me. Also, I like the original version. And the stop sign is killer. I really like the vision you must have seen before you shot it. I'm not sure I would have seen it to begin with but love the outcome.

As far as other places to get ideas from I particularly enjoy 1x.com. They don't have much for landscapes but the other stuff on there is impressive.

An excellent series!
I also prefer the first version of the mailbox....an absolute beauty!

I really like the raspberry and celery shots. Very clean and crisp and something different from your landscape portfolio. The other two shots are also fantastic. Excellent work Todd.
