Proud Mockingbird
What can I say . . . I love photographing Mockingbirds! Of course, they cannot compare with Eagles in size or majesty, but they do manage to hold up their heads in pride.

I'm really enjoying seeing your posts of these wonderful feathered friends Daniel. The shots have been right on. This one is really nice.

Yes your focus on birds is starting to motivate me to get off my duff and try some more myself. Another nice image in your series Daniel.

I have a resident mockingbird that has claimed one of my prairie-fire flowering crabapple trees as his dominion. He chased an entire flock of starlings out of it a few days ago to protect his fruited bounty. Maybe if I went out there and started picking some of the berries he would chase me off too!

Wayne,

Any Mockingbird that chases off Starlings is my kind of bird! You should put out some earthworms to encourage it to hang around!
