I’ve played around with so many times , unable to decide if it is over saturated or under , if I like the red the yellow or pink versions .This is a compromise and I still cant make my mind up but hanging ones pictures out to dry on this forum certainly concentrates the mind , what’s left of it that is .
It's great that you have the bird with its prey but I'm not keen on the overall image. Apart from the fact that the bird is flying away from you I think there is too much sky. If it were mine I'd try cropping some from top, bottom and a touch from the left.

Bob,
I smiled when I read your post, you seem to have poured over the image and torn yourself apart before anyone has time to comment. It's a nice image, I agree with Rob about cropping but its all relative. The sky colouring is lovely as is for my taste.
Nice capture, but I think it could be cropped to advantage, in order to increase the emphasis on the owl.

If only the Owl itself was bigger within the frame it would be a very nice different to the norm image.

Have to say I like this shot. A bit larger in the frame might help and some cropping could achieve this, but there's enough detail to identify the owl and the title is perfect (and makes it work)
