Shot about five weeks ago in the Morton Arboretum, located in Chicago's western suburbs. This is not a black & white conversion, believe it or not--this is a full color image.

To ensure full tonal range given the extremely dark darks and the bright whites (brightest tone was the sky, not the snow), this is an HDR image, double tone-mapped in Photomatix and blended in Photoshop. All images shot at ISO 200 and f/11; shutter speeds: 1/100, 1/400, 1/200, 1/50, 1/25
Double tone-mapped, eh? Well, it worked. Some of the darks are still tough to make out here, but that's due to the white background no doubt. I wouldn't have guessed HDR at all - very natural. Nice composition and scene, and of course, very well executed.

Very nice, Kerry....the snow on the branches and tree trunks is what makes it for me.
